Free web hosting through the Smart Schools Program – now on pilot!
In line with its thrust of promoting use of Information and Communications Technology ICT) in education, Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) announced today that it is stepping up its content offerings under the Smart Schools Program through free web hosting for schools.
By sponsoring free web hosting trials, Smart hopes that more teachers and students will be encouraged to go online and eventually create local content.
Schools will be given the opportunity to have their own sub domain name under the Smart Schools website (www.smartschools.ph), as well as 50MB of space under a hosting server.
The hosting service is being showcased at the ICTs in Basic Education Congress in Cebu City with the website of partner school Science and Technology Education Center as pilot. It can be viewed at http://stec.smartschools.ph
