SSP Website of the Month (October) and Community Choice Awardee: Agusan National High School

The Agusan National High School bested all the website nominees in the SSP Website of the Month Competition for October, bagging not only the “Website of the Month” Award but also the Community Choice Award.

Hosted by SSP, the Agusan NHS official website was created and developed by the school’s webmasters, led by Agusan NHS ICT Coordinator Aida Zita O. Ariola. Teachers from each subject department contributed content for the school website. Students of Agusan NHS also played major roles in the development of the school website. The web designer for Agusan NHS is Lawrence Wilmer P. Anatalio, a student of Agusan NHS.

The Agusan NHS (http://agusannhsbutuan.smartschools.ph) website features the school’s history, mission and vision and also contains information on school programs, student organizations, and school activities. The site also has a section for the school alumni. The site has a modern and non-traditional design yet its well-organized layouts and its proper use of images makes it user-friendly. The content of the website is also updated and informative.

The SSP “Website of the Month” Competition is SSP website’s rewards and recognition program for the SSP-hosted websites. Nominated websites are evaluated based on the content, website design, involvement of teachers and students, and website maintenance.

A “Community Choice Award” is also given to the nominee with the most number of votes earned in the Smart Schools Online Poll. The Agusan NHS website earned a total of 1,099 votes in the online poll conducted from September 23 to October 23. Aurora National Science High School website got 38 votes; Lake Sebu National High School website, 19 votes; Olongapo City National High School website, 363; and Tagbilaran City Science High School website, 79.

Congratulations to Agusan National High School and to all the nominees for a job well done!
