What is the real meaning of being a model student?
A model student is both a learner and a leader. What he learns, he shares to others. He is a good influence to others and he learns not only from his own experiences but also from his experience with other people.
For me, a model student is someone like Ma. Alexandria Daileg, a junior student of New Ormoc City National High School (NOCHNS).
The youngest child of Marilou and Loreto Daileg, Alexandria has always been a student achiever since her preschool days. She is one of the brightest students of NOCNHS who gives pride to our school. She won 1st place in Journalism and Radio Broadcasting in the National School Press Conference (NSPC) 2005 and was also recognized as the Most Outstanding Campus Journalist in NSPC 2007. Those are just a few of Alexandria’s achievements as a student.
Aside from her success in academics, what makes Alexandria a model student is her great personality. Her family, teachers, and classmates describe her as a responsible, persevering, kind, loving, and caring girl. She doesn’t let challenges stop her from fulfilling her goals in life.
Alexandria believes that one’s success doesn’t lie on one’s status in life but on one’s perspective of life. She believes that whatever someone’s goals are, he can achieve them as long as he keeps his faith and pursues them. Alexandria’s inspiration comes from the wisdom of this saying: “Do your best and God will do the rest.”
