Operating Your Satellite Terminal


 

Operating the FR-190 / FR-190G Satellite Terminal
After all the equipment has been installed and connected properly, the following steps should be followed for optimum operation.

If you have not installed your Fixed Satellite Terminal yet, please go to Installing Your Terminal for installation guide.




1.  Switching ON the Main Box
  • Ensure that the Power Adapter is connected to the power outlet.
  • Turn ON the Main Box by pressing the "ON/OFF" switch.
  • The LCD will display "Insert Card".

2.  Inserting the SIM Card
Insert your SIM Card into the SIM Card Reader with the chip facing downward.

  • If the SIM card is inserted correctly, the LCD will display "Please Wait" followed by "SIM Ready" and then "Please Wait" again.
  • If the SIM card is inserted incorrectly, the LCD will display "Check Card".

WARNING:

While entering PIN is not yet available, make sure to disable PIN of the SIM card, is using different SIM card other than that provided by an authorized ACeS Service Provider, before inserting it into the SIM Card Reader.  Otherwise, your SIM card will be locked.

3.  Activating Your SIM Card
If your SIM Card requires activation, simply follow the instructions in your SIM Card User's Guide provided by the authorized ACeS Service Provider to activate your SIM card.

4.  Making a Call
  • Lift the telephone handset and wait for dial tone.
  • "Please Dial" will be displayed on the LCD.
  • Dial the destination number as instructed in your SIM Card User's Guide.  For international calls that require "+" before the country code, dialing "+" can be done by dialing "*" twice followed by the desired international number.
  • The complete dialed number will be displayed on the LCD followed by "Calling" and then "Connecting".
  • You will hear a Ring Back Tone or a Busy Tone after successful dialing (see "Types of Tones" for details).
  • When the caalled party answers the call, the LCD will display "00:00" and the call timer will be started.
  • However, if the called party is busy, the LCD will display "Busy" while you hear 3 busy tones.
  • When you finishs with the conversation, put the telephone handset back on hook to hang up.
  • The LCD will display "ACeS".
NOTES:
  • If the call is unsuccessfil, the LCD will display "Call Failure".
  • If the telephone is off hook for approximately 10 seconds and no digit is dialed, "Please Dial" will be cleared on the LCD while you hear fast busy tone.



TIPS:

  • To increase earpiece volume, press "#53*#" in the telephone keypad.
  • To reduce earpiece volume, press "#53**#" in the telephone kaypad.
  • Increasing or reducing volume can be done whether the call is in progress or not.
  • Right after pressing "#53*#" or "#53**#", LCD displays "OK" if a c all is not in progress, indicating that the volume has been adjusted successfully.

5.  Receiving a Call

  • You will hear Ringing tone in your telephone set when there's an incoming call while the LCD displays "Incoming Call".
  • If the Calling Line Identification (CLI) Service is active, the c alling party number will be displayed on the LCD.
  • Lift the telephone handset to answer the c all.
  • The LCD will display "00:00" and the call timer will be started.
  • When you finish with the conversation, put the telephone handset back on hook to hang up.
  • The LCD will display "ACeS".
