Basic Parts and Components
The FR-190 and FR-190G Fixed Satellite Terminal consists of five components, namely:
1. Antenna
The Antenna sends and receives signal to and from the satellite. It must be installed outside and must be positioned high enough to avoid obstructions from buildings and trees. It should be pointed toward the satellite direction.

3. Antenna Cable
The Antenna Cable connects the Antenna to the Main Box. The standard length of the cable is 10.5 meters. If the distance between the Antena and the Main Box is less than 10.5 meters, do not cut the cable, as it is designed to match the signal transmitting and receiving capability of both the Antenna and the Main Box. Also, a shortened cable could affect voice quality. If a longer cable is required, an optional cable may be used, which can be purchased separately.

NOTE:
Use only cable with type and length recommended to maintain the signal receiving capability of the Main Box. See Cable specification.
4. Main Box
The Main Box processes signals from the satellite and converts them into sound via a regular phone, and vice versa. It consists of the following interfaces:

a) SIM Card Reader
The Card Reader is located at the top of the Main Box. This is where the SIM Card is inserted. It captures the subscriber's identification number and other subscriber information from the SIM card. The Main Box then registers the user's identity with the network.
b) LCD Display
This informs the user of the Main Box's activity / condition, such as:
- Network status
- Standby status
- Registration and call status
- Tools

c) Connectors
Various connectors at the rear-side of the Main Box allow connection to the Power Adapter, Telephone Set, Antenna and External SIM Card Reader.
d) Power Switch
This turns the Main Box on and off.
5. Power Adapter
The power adapter converts the main alternating current (AC) electrical supply to direct current (DC). This adapter can be used with 110V or 220V power supply. The output from the adapter to the Main Box is 18V. The adapter is designed for continuous operation thus, it is normal if the adapter feels a litter bit warm.
