Q: What is the SMART Bro QuickFix 2.1?
A: SMART Bro QuickFix 2.1 is self-diagnostic software that allows existing users of SMART Bro to easily check for any connection problems.
Q: Why do I need to install QuickFix 2.1?
A: Users need to install QuickFix 2.1 for troubleshooting broadband connection and resolve some of the common connection problems encountered, such as:
-Antenna problems
-Network – related problems
-PC configuration
-Redirection to portal

Q: Will using QuickFix 2.1 slow down my PC?
A: No, QuickFix 2.1 takes up minimal CPU usage. Thus, it should not affect the speed of the user’s computer.

Q: Will QuickFix 2.1 have any effect on other programs/software previously installed in my PC?
A: No, QuickFix 2.1 should not have any effect on any other programs/software previously installed on the user’s computer.

Q: Can I use QuickFix 2.1 to diagnose connection problems if I’m using another ISP?
A: No, QuickFix 2.1 was not designed to run on any ISP other than SMART Bro

Installation
Q: What are the System Requirements to run QuickFix 2.1?
A: QuickFix 2.1 requires Microsoft Windows ME/NT/2000/XP to run successfully on the user’s pc. At the moment, QuickFix 2.1 can only run on Windows-based platforms. Aside from this, the user’s computer should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Intel™ Pentium II processor (or higher)
- At least 256 MB RAM (or higher)
- LAN Card
- At least 10 GB hard disk space

Q: How do I install QuickFix 2.1?
A: Existing SMART Bro users may go to http://www.smart.com.ph/SmartBro/New/ and download SMART Bro QuickFix 2.1 installer file (in .zip file format) then save it in your local disk. Extract the file to your personal folder and double-click the installer file to launch the setup wizard. Follow installation procedures.

Q: How do I uninstall QuickFix 2.1?
A: To uninstall the product, simply uninstall the product from the Add/Remove Programs feature of Windows (Start >> Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs) by choosing SMART Bro QuickFix 2.1 from the list of currently installed programs.

Q: Will QuickFix 2.1 be available to other operating systems?
A: Currently, QuickFix 2.1 is only available to Microsoft Windows ME/NT/2000/XP. Users will be informed once the tool is available to other operating systems.

Q: Can I install QuickFix 2.1 on more than one (1) computer?
A: Yes, QuickFix 2.1 can be installed on more than one (1) computer provided that the PC where QuickFix 2.1 will be installed is connected to the antenna directly or via router or switch.

Q: Why do I need to register/activate my QuickFix 2.1?
A: Product registration and activation is required for SMART Bro QuickFix 2.1 for verification of whether the software used is valid or not.

Q: How do I register and/or activate QuickFix 2.1
A: Registration is a mandatory one-time transaction performed during initial launch of QuickFix 2.1, following installation. Product activation is required during the initial run of the product following product registration. Product activation is also required everytime QuickFix 2.1 is re-installed on the user’s computer. Both registration and activation are automatically triggered by the software to be performed by user.

Q: What is the difference between QuickFix 2 and QuickFix 2.1?
A: Aside from the new look and feel, QuickFix 2.1 also allows the user to view a more accurate diagnostic capability compared to QuickFix 2.

Q: How do I know if I have the latest version of QuickFix?
A: The current version of QuickFix is displayed on the main screen; the users can also check out the ABOUT tab to verify the current version of QuickFix that’s currently installed on the user’s computer.

Features and Functions

Q: How do I diagnose my SMART Bro Internet connection?
A: Your SMART Bro Internet connection can be diagnosed by clicking on the “CHECK MY CONNECTION” button. This will allow QuickFix diagnose parts of your Smart BRO connection, and troubleshoot basic connection problems.

Q: Will I be able to diagnose SMART Bro Internet connection if my PC is connected to the antenna via router?
A: Yes, however this is discouraged since accuracy of result is not guaranteed due to an additional network device between the PC and the antenna. For increased reliability, it is highly advised that you run QuickFix 2.1 with no router attached.

Q: How do I use Advanced Options in QuickFix 2.1?
A: There are certain advanced features present in QuickFix 2.1, such as Ping a Site, Trace Route, etc. You may opt to use any of the advanced options available by clicking the appropriate button from the main window. A brief description regarding each feature will be displayed by pointing the mouse cursor on each button.

Q: What is the ANNOUNCEMENT feature?
A: The ANNOUNCEMENT feature is provided as a means of informing SMART Bro users of any network-related advisories that could affect network connectivity.

Q: What is the FEEDBACK feature?
A: The FEEDBACK feature is provided to gather customer satisfaction feedback from existing SMART Bro users.
