What are the features of my Smart Buddy GSM?

The following value-added services are automatically available to all SMART Buddy Pre-paid GSM subscribers: CALLER ID

The Caller ID feature displays the name or number (depending on the handset) of your caller on the screen of your cellphone. You can now identify who is calling even before answering the call. TEXT MESSAGING

The Text Messaging feature allows you to send and receive text messages with your SMART Buddy cellphone.

To send a text message:

First, make sure the Message Centre Number is set at 63910000101. Refer to your cellphone manual on how to access and modify the message center number. Key in your message via the “write message” or “message editor” option on your cellphone.

Send your messages by keying in the access code (e.g. 0918,0919,0917) of the GSM network and then the mobile number. You may also send messages to numbers in your phone book. In this case you will not need to keyin the number. Consult the manual of your handset. You will be charged for every successfully sent message. TEXTING REMINDERS

You can enjoy FREE TEXT allocations with your SMART Buddy Pre-paid GSM subscription. To enjoy free textmessaging, simply load any of the denomination of the SMART Buddy Call and Text card.

VOICE MAIL

People may try to call you when your cellphone is off, busy, unanswered, or outside of network coverage. With the SMART Voicemailfeature, these callers can leave voice messages in your Voice Mail box. You may then retrieve these voice messages later. This way you’ll never miss important phone calls or messages. However, you have to request for this feature by calling *888.

When your request has been apporved, you have to initialize your Voice Mail feature by dialing 100 SEND. You will be charged everytime you go through the following procedures in your Voice Mail.

To retrieve, save or delete messages:

1. Dial 100 SEND.

2. Enter your 4-digit security code (default security code is 9999).

3. Press 1 to play, 2 to save, or 8 to delete messages.

To record a personal greeting:

1. Dial 100 SEND.

2. Enter your 4-digit security code (default security code is 9999).

3. Press 23 to start recording your greeting.

4. Press # to end your recording.

Note: Callers will be given 1 minute to record their voice message, otherwise the message will be cut short.

To change your security code:

1. Dial 100 SEND.

2. Enter your 4-digit security code (default security code is 9999).

3. Press 8 to go to the Persoanl Options Menu.

4. Press 2 to enter security code options.

5. Press 3 and enter the new 4-digit security code. It is the responsibility of the subscriber to remember the new security code.

6. Press # to save changes.

Callers will be given 1 minute to leave their voice essage. After 1 minute, their message will no longer be recorded. Your Voice Mail box can store up to 20 messages. Note: Changing your security codeis highly recommended to ensure privacy and security of your voice messages. It is your responsibility to remember your new security code.

To leave a voice message (if you are the calling party):

1. Dial the number of the person you wish to call. When the phone of the called party is unattended or busy, you will hear a welcome message.

2. Record your voice message after the beep sound. You only have 1 minute to record your voice message, otherwise it will be cut short.

Note: The called party will be notified by a text message indicating that he/she has a voice message. Voice message retention is up to 3 days and one can have a maximum of 20 messages stores in the voice mailbox.

CALL WAITING

The Call Waiting feature alerts you of a second incoming call while engaged in an ongoing call.

CALL HOLD

The Call Hold feature, in conjunction with Call Waiting, allows you to keep one caller on the line while you receive or make a second call and switch between calls. Note: When using the Call Waiting/Hold features, only one outgoing call at a time can be made.

EMERGENCY CALLS

The Emergency Calls feature allows you toll-free access to an emergency number, 112, for police, fire, and medical assistance.
