Smart Involves School Partners In Blood Drive
[March 29, 2007/ Manila] - Employees of Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), in partnership with the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) – Bacolod City chapter and the University of St. Lasalle recently conducted a blood drive in Bacolod City.
This is the second year that Smart is involving school partners under the Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) for blood donation.
These school partners are the University of Cebu in Cebu City, University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, Western Visayas College of Science and Technology in Iloilo City and Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City.
A total of 195 bags was collected from 366 walk-in donors when the blood drive was conducted simultaneously in the cities of Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Davao, Ozamis and Cagayan de Oro. Smart, in partnership with the local chapter of the Philippine National Red Cross, conducts an annual bloodletting activity under its Emergency Preparedness and Disaster response program. @
